She-Sham furniture has become extremely popular over the past few years and derives from rustic and artisan furniture manufactured in India, Malaysia and the far-east and imported into the UK. Sometimes called Jali wood or Dekota furniture, this is a style of hard wood furniture which has a characteristic rustic finish. Traditionally the furniture is finished in a walnut stain which is oiled or waxed into the grain of the wood and really lets the natural characteristics of this hardwood shine through.
The very nature of she-sham furniture means that it has marks, dents and fillings which are intended to enhance the rustic feel of the furniture. The traditional metal and wood combinations of the Thakat range hang very heavily on the origins of this kind of furniture, however the more modern take on this style is the Cube range, that uses the same wood and finish but a box style construction.
The products displayed below are just a few of the many ranges we have on show at our showroom.
